As we age, our bodies lose muscle, it's a natural progression. Bodybuilders, no matter how brilliant you once were, can't change that reality.

But some bodybuilders, who are already at the age of being a grandfather, don't look older.

As bodybuilders get older, their bodies often start to break down.

However, there are some athletes who seem to skip the natural order of things and can continue to be fit beyond the age of 60, even more so than when they were younger. Today we take a look at these awe-inspiring athletes and admire their amazing bodies.

Although bodybuilding is not a confrontational sport, it is still very demanding on your body. The older you get, the harder it is to push your body to its limits. The end result of the life of a top bodybuilder is usually more surgeries than you can count. Just look at ronnie coleman.

Despite this, there are some incredible people who have been able to resist the ageing process. These bodybuilders stay in incredible shape until they reach middle age and old age. Today, let's take a look at these athletes and see the best of them.

4. Tony pearson

Former mr universe winner tony pearson started his fitness career in 1976 in junior competition. 1980 saw him win the title of 'mr nabba universe' and until 1994 he had some of the sport's biggest competitions with some of the most impressive results. He had a few respectable performances in some of the sport's biggest competitions. However, he shocked the bodybuilding world when he returned to competition in 2014 at the age of 57.

When he made his comeback, it was clear that tony was in incredible shape, especially for his age. His secret, he said, was to continue to work out as he did when he competed. He also rarely misses more than two days of training a week.

3. Bill grant

Bill grant was so successful in his heyday that he earned the nickname "Body of steel". Starting his training in the weightlifting category at the age of nine, he was essentially groomed to become one of the best bodybuilders on the planet. He was also the kind of man who, in a career spanning more than 20 years, competed in 44 competitions and won the titles of mr world and mr international.

Even after his last bodybuilding show in 1994, bill was still in incredible shape. Now, in his 70s, he can be considered one of the strongest grandfathers alive. His physique in his 70s is enough to make people in their 20s envious.

2. Robbie robinson

At the peak of his career, robbie robinson was one of the best bodybuilders in the world. This was evident from his many victories in the olympia, mr universe, mr international and mr world competitions. He was a dominant figure in the latter part of the 70s.

Despite the fact that he has not competed since 2000, robbie has remained in perfect form. He attributes this to his unique training style, which puts less stress on his muscles and which has resulted in very few injuries over the years. Whether his method is scientific or not, there is no denying that it works for him because for his age, he looks incredible.

1. Vince taylor

There was a time when vince taylor held the record for the most ifbb pro wins. His 22 career wins were eventually surpassed by the great legend ronnie coleman. However, it is safe to say that in his later years, vince was able to maintain his physical form better than ronnie.

Although taylor spent the early part of his career training with big weights, he changed his ways in his 40s. He began to realise how important it was to focus on adaptation and injury avoidance, rather than adding weight. This shift led to him lengthening his athletic life and winning the olympia masters division.
